Dear Friends, I want to report on an event that happened June 1st.My daughter and her mother and I were travelling home from a short graduation gift trip to Branson Mo. and Eureka Springs AK.My daughter had graduated from the 4th grade and we thought it would be nice to celebrate with a short road trip. The trip itself was great. We went to Silver Dollar City in Branson and then found a great inn for thr night there.Monday morning we drove south into the Ozark mountains to one of my favorite little town destinations in Eureka Springs Arkansas. We had a lovely day shopping sight-seeing,We capped of the day there with lunch outside on the second story BASIN STREET HOTEL restaurant. From there we visited the Civil War battlefield at Pea RIDGE AK.WE started home and were about 30 miles south oF Sringfield Mo. when we crested a hill and came across a construction zone going down to one lane.I stopped my car about 20 feet behind a low trailer semi and started to wait for the traffic to go forward.Without warning we were hit from behind by a car going at highway speed. The drivers car pushed us into the semi so we got crushed from both ends.Thankfully my daughter only had scrapes from the seat belts but her mother and I were not so lucky. Her mother took a hard hit from the air bag and was bruised all over,I took the worst hit for the team.I broke my right foot which was on the brake and even worse broke my left arm which pushed up into my rotor cuff.I had my surgery June 10 and the bandages came off today,It is hard to type with one hand but I feel the need to stay connected. The surgery went well with plates and screws put in my arm and I will be going back to work after therapy in 6 to 8 weeks. Please keep us in your prayers.I hope this note finds all of you healthy and happy.I will post a couple picks and a few of the car so you can see how grateful I am we made it home alive.
Peace and Respect
